Wednesday, 28-Feb-2018
AEJI recommendation
Carmit Lubanov, AEJI director present the idea behind the "Women and Environment " series of meetings,Galilee, August 2017

Series of meetings “Women & Environment n Shared Space”

The current series of meetings (2017-18) is part of Kulanana initiative .

Background -

The Association for Environmental Justice held special activities for the strategic development of  Green Vision in the Arab communities in the last decade, in cooperation with various stakeholders, including residents and representatives of the local authorities. In the work process, we have mapped the needs and characterized the groups that can potentially lead long-term change, a process in which the population of women is one of two main groups that have been identified and targeted by AEJI as having the potential to lead to change in the communities. This diagnosis is supported by research literature on environmental justice, as well as field experience in various parts of the world, in part with the participation of the AEJI.

The content offered in the Kulanana project is based on experience and knowledge accumulated in the activities of the Association for Environmental Justice in the last decade. The proposed activity is a platform that connects the ability to lead strategic processes and implementation in the field of multi-channel and multi-disciplinary work programs, such as the Association for Environmental Justice and Research, and by local organization 'Al Amal' activist in the central Galillee region, North Israel, where the Arab population is over 50% (the national average is about 20%).

Discussions within the women's group will help formulate a long-term plan for activities in the field of women and the environment in common spaces. The final meeting is scheduled to take place as a open to the public, and after that, in 2018- all who are interesting are welcome!
